My friend is putting 38s on his cj5 and is looking into upgrading his drivetrain. Through a friend we found a set of built 3/4 ton axels. Supposedly both the dana 60 and the corporate 14 bolt have detroits and moser axels and 4.56. He wants $2000 Can which is $2 US (actually $1256.84 US to be exact). Are they worth it? Would the dana 60 front be knuckle over?
Any info would be much appriciated!

3/4 tons dont usually have d60 fronts. unless it is a cummins dodge

it came off a 3/4 ton chevy with 44 inch hawgs. I really don't know much on chevy and their drivetrain and that is why I came and asked the experts, you guys!

Did this guy swap those axles under the 3/4 ton or is he saying they came under it... 3/4 ton from the factory is not a dana 60 up front... so either he upgraded them and now is selling them or he is trying to tell you what he has is a dana 60 when it's not.... IMHO if it's really a 1 ton set of axles and they are in great condition that's not a bad deal at all.....

that's not a bad price for those axles.....the detroits alone costs $700+ not counting gears/axle shafts. If they came from a 3/4 ton I bet your dealing with a Dana 44 with 8 lug outters. still a good deal though.....

Have you seen the front axle?If not get a pic or go look at them.If it has king pins it should be a 60.If it has ball joints it is a 44.And the ujoints will be huge compared to a 44.I think it is still worth it though even if it is a 44.Could always find a 60 later and sell the 44 and come out pretty good.Blazin:rasta:
