 Well I may had my head up my ass again!!! The Cherokkee sitting behind the barn that I robbed of the T-18...had a running 360 and a new water pump and raditor. Today after 4 10 to 15 degree nights I happen to think of antifreeze. The rad tank seemed low and a few drops came out the petcock...I r
emoved the small pipe plugs on the block side and she's solid!!! Can it be saved...the freeze plugs are still in and a few drops from the rad look like weak coolant. Shouls I put a heater around it?....or install the bellhousing and remove the waterpump belt and light it off? Am I fawked?

as long as you dont runn it your okay.

just put a little antifreeze in the radiator. theat should start to thaw it out. it has lots of alcohol in it. just keep adding a little at a time. do you have a block heater? or some other way to warm it it up above 32*?

if there was room for it to expand it should be all right.

Stick a drop light in the engine compartment over night and it should thaw slowly. I know of a guy that put an electric blanket around his frozen block once and it thawed out in about 2 hours. I think the weakest parts of the water jackets are near the intake manifold so you might want to pull it and check the block there on both sides near the lifters. Pray for heat

:) Well as the saying goes...I've seen sicker dogs live!!! I put the halogen work lamp under the hood and had a kerosene turbo heater blowing under the truck. I caught some of what coolant had drained and although rusty and dirty...it still must provide some help. I'm leaving the light on it all night and added about 3/4 gal/ of fresh coolant. I'll try to botton it up and fire it off in the morning. Thanks guys! Later and Happy New Years.

:) So far so good!! I put it together this morning and lit it off. No water leaks and it's not pressuring up or anything wild. I'm going to let it run again and look at the oil. Thanks guys for the info...I must of got it in time.
