ONETUFF76 12-31-2001, 04:43 PM She was originally just a restore project and not for wheeling that's why all the chrome.
snowy morning, I-80 eastbound headed for morning classes, in 2wheel, in an unplowed lane, feel the back end getting squirly so I go to change lanes. While changing back end slides, I hold the slide, but a dry patch up ahead. My choices straighten and take out the guy next to me (little import so probably kill him) or try to dance with the emergency lane and guard rail. I tried to dance but sliding at 60 mph and hitting the dry spot left me little chance. caught the new guard rails with the left front spun the right front into it and finally the right rear and stopped. Frame bent/cracked and some body damage other than that looks like shes fine.

Oh, that just sucks. I feel your pain. I had a red light runner take out the front end on my '73 F-250. got it straightend back out but it still makes me mad. I hope you can fix it. if not mabey find a good truck to swap all your goodies onto.

Charles Aarons 01-02-2002, 07:50 PM It was a very nice truck. Maybe in the future consider using 4WD when driving on snow. I had a near spinout in my M37 last week when on intermittent ice with Lockrights in 2WD (LR makes it worse in 2WD); about 3 or 4 45s before I got it under control. I popped into 4WD quick.

Skyetone 01-02-2002, 09:17 PM So whats the frame gonna cost ya?

I would have but you can't exactly do freeway speeds in 4wd. Most of the freeways were plowed, I had just switched onto I-80 and they had only plowed 3 lanes and the lane I was in wasn't plowed. I could have saved it if it weren't for that damn dry spot in the road.
Frame and all the body $3000
estimate on the frame alone from shine and Dave's was about $1300
mudbug97tj 01-03-2002, 04:53 PM Man that sucks, I had a 79 f150 shortbed that was in pretty good shape until somebody rammed into the side of me and totaled it .
Skyetone 01-03-2002, 06:15 PM 1300 on just the frame eh. What did they need to do to it?
ONETUFF76 01-05-2002, 05:32 PM it was jacked pretty bad as you can see from the pics, plus it was cracked on the drivers side. They were thinkinng that they might have had to just hack a front end from another one and weld it on to mine.
