Anybody have a number or link to a reliable company (in southern Calif) that can cut down my front d60? I want to follow Billa Vistas advice and cut 4.5" off the long side to retain the stock FJ-40 spring perch width. Here in my cow chip town I wouldn't trust anybody with such a task. Some say they can but have no track record and I'm not about to throw $1800 (cost of axle) out the window by a botched up job. Thanks maddog

Now that's as local as it can get. Thanks! Their only 45 minutes away. Are they a one stop shop? Meaning they were able to cut and respline the axle shaft also. Or did you have that done somewhere else. If there's not enough material to respline where would I go for a custom length axle to fit the shortened tube???

They do it all.We had them make some cro-moly shafts for a cruiser axle.They should be able to respline yours an cut them down.Give them a call.Olegario is the guy to speak to.

Have you taken out your axle shafts and looked at them yet? If you have the older style Chevy axle shafts, they will be necked down all the way from the yoke to the splines. These can't be shortened. You need the newer shafts that neck UP from the yoke to the splines. I forgot when Chevy switched, but you may want to check which ones you have.

Dam! That's the place I'ed like to work. They have better than Banking hours. Mon. -Thurs. 8 to 4:30, Firday 8 to noon, closed weekends. WOW!

..how about if Summer brothers is a one day turn around?..Its the weekend ..So I will give them a call later in the week..

If they can whip it it in one day...They are only 4 hours from me..That will work!...~Clint~

Hey! That would be a cake walk with only 4 hrs. of driving. It took me 18 hrs of driving just to pick up my axles, 95% of it was in the stinking rain (it don't rain in CA>>horse sh!t<<) but I got them. I am as anxious as you to give them a call on Monday. :D
