Were can I get a yoke that is splined the same as the NP231 output shaft. I know I can get a flange for a cv but I need a yoke w/ the ubolts or straps for DS removal. New, used, spicer, donor from a chevy. Whatever as long as it fits. Its going on a 90 YJ w/ the RE hack and tap. ANd I know its weaker than a new one but I only have 100hp so I can't break things if I want to . Thanks guys

Does ANYBODY have an idea on who would have these? or is RE the only one who makes a flange that bolts on the way it does?

Could I have my output machined and threaded to accept a regular yoke?

Rubicon Express is the first place that comes to mind. I have challenged the guys at Driveline Service in West Sac to find a yoke that fits the output shaft of a 231, but nothing fits.

REs yoke is just a standard yoke that has a washer welded in the center of it for the retaining bolt. It looks like a Spicer yoke. If you were careful, you could cut the washer out of the yoke, and have your shaft machined down to a thread, but I don't know if the yoke is long enough to clear the threads and lock nut.

I ran the RE SYE for five years with out any problems, in its stock form. For better retention, I used a Heli-Coil thread insert for the threads inside the output shaft.
I think that drilling and tapping the ouput shaft is a better way to go, since you can run a longer bolt into the output shaft, catching more threads than a locknut would be able to.
