I am currently building a Zuki with 3 link in the front and 4 link in the rear with Toy axles. I want to extend the wheelbase to get the best approach and departure angles that I can. What can I do with the stock steering box, meaning how far forward can I move the front axle without haveing to change that? I am not sure what my other options are, but was wondering what others have done. I guess I would just like to know how far forward others have moved there axle and what you did with the steering to make it work?
Thanks,
-Steve

I used a pickup box on mine, worked great but should have done the FJ-80 box.

Is an FJ80 box the same as the 60 box? I used a FJ60 box.

Looks like it..
a reference for an FJ60/J80 box (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/coolfj40/powsteergear.html)
Oh, and it appears a Lexus LX450 also uses that box..
Another box to go look for!

I bought two at that price... Its hard to tell if the 62/80 are exactly the same as the 60 from that pic, but it sure looks like it. There are lots of 80s around.

OK, thanks a bunch guys.
I found a bunch of them in junk yards on the net ranging from $850 to $125. The $125 one was actualy from a 1997 LX450. Doesn't look like it should be too hard to get ahold of one for a decent price.
Now just how far forward should I go? I would like to have an almost perfect aproach angle. I am going to run into any other problems?

When you use an FJ box, what do you use for a pump and pulley? Still a sidekick one?

What ever kind of pump you want. I am using a Saginaw tc, but a kick would work fine.

about how many inches forward can you go with the front axle before having to go to a forward facing pitman arm?
