Thats what I'm doing to. Did you put a tire centering ring inbetween the plates or just used the to plates to sandwich it.
Hows it on the highway?

I am thinking of doing the same thing. I was just going to have a local mach shop cut them out on the cnc mach. and weld them on myself

I just sandwhiched the tire bead between the two rings. Don't know how it does on the highway because my pile is slightly illegal! If you balanced them I'm sure they would be just fine! I don't see speeds over 40 on the dirt roads.

What do you mean a tire centering ring. Do you have any pictures of one? I'm just curious exactly how you'd do that since most tires don't have the exact same dimentions... well at least within a 1/16 or 1/8. Anyway just curious if that's something common to many other professional or otherwise beadlocks?

when i built my set i just figured i would use some sheet metel spacers to center the tire on the beadlock. i have not mounted a set yet but i just figured i would cut them whatever thickness i needed to locate them. mike

most of the other beadlocks have the lip shaped/formed so the tire has a flange to sit in

AND THE COST OF MATERIAL WAS ?????

those are pimp i'm gonna build me a set in the next few weeks, what was the cost on having them laser cut.... do you think if a guy were good enough with a plasma he could use it?

Cost of material was around 200 for everything. I considered plasma cutter, but you would still have to have them cnc'd or drill the holes out yourself. Laser cut + the cost of the steel was 150 or so. They had it done in a day, came out absolutely precision, didn't have to drill holes and waist a bunch of money on drill bits and such. Just a lot less headache, steel was flaw free, easy to weld. If you had enough patience you could plasma cut them yourself, and if you had enough money you could buy a super good drill bit, but that's at least 80 holes to drill out in 1/4 thick metal. Time has to mean something to everyone, I love working on my pile, but spending days/weeks and too much money on beadlocks was not in my plan.

What's w/ the wheel travel? You Walla Walla guys usually just put 40's on an unlifted rig. I'm impressed. You got skills to be making your own beadlocks.
