ok I am new at this but I know I need to cut 20 inch spares out of .25 inch plate.

so I found a plasma cutter that will handle it for 2300 BUT

what kindof gas do they use and about how much is itfor a bottle and then the refill??

also - I can expect to be ably to cut 1/4 inch thick pretty smooth right? I mean with little touch up from the grinder

holy ish man 2300 for 1/4 """

I HAVE A HYPATHERM THAT WILL CUT 1/2" ...COST ME ABOUT 1250$$

THE CUT WILL BE AS SMOOTH AS YOU CAN HOLD YOUR HAND....JUST A TINY RIPPLE THAT A SANDING DISC COULD GET RID OF........

THE GAS IS REALLY EXPENSIVE AND HARD AS HELL TO GET ........BUT AN AIR COMPRESSOR WILL WORK JUST FINE......THEY WORK ON COMPRESSED AIR AND ELECTRICITY...............

As far as I know they all just use compressed air but it has to be dry. Is the machine capable of cutting up to 1/4 or more?
You want it to be at least up to 1/2 capable if you want cleaner cuts. The one we have is good up to 1" but at 1/2 the cuts are already not as clean as they are at 1/4" . just go slow going to fast makes it real messy to. Look into the price of tips cuz you go through them quickly even faster with wet air. I've had a miller its was a good machine and now we have a lincoln good machine and cheaper tips.
