ill give you the honest truth, this post wasnt for me. im a toyota guy. :D but my friend just got a d44 to put under his rig and he heard somewhere that you cant upgrade the r&p in the ones 3.30 and under.

but his internet isnt working for him to ask himself.

Uh . . . yah! Um . . . you really should be flamed for such a newbie question, but I will help you out instead because I have a kind heart.

You'll need a new carrier along with a new ring and pinion. It's not a do-it-yourself job, especially if you had to ask if it was even possible. Last I checked a carrier for a d44 ran around $40, r&p runs around $150, and a set-up kit costs around $60. Professional installation goes for around $200. So add that all up and it amounts to about $250 parts + $200 labor. $450 total. Cha-ching! Now I know why I didn't re-gear! :rasta:
