What up with lockers for nissans? I searched and didn't see :flipoff2:
My roommate just got a 95 pathfinder and needs a locker for the rear of it.

For the most part there are two options, ARB or detroit (actually 3 if you count welding it). The axle in the rear of his truck is most likley a h233b.

Detroit is no more, Lockright is the only option other than an ARB, and an ARB is the only option if it's got LSD.

like xterraguy said, you have 3 choices:
detroit, lockright, and the expensive arb.
If you have a lsd, just go find a donor vehicle and swap the axle for a open differiental. I'm ordering a lockright for mine tomorrow. www.4x4parts.com carry all the stuff for your nissan needs.

Only thing I don't like about the Detroit is that you can't turn it off for street use. Other than that they rock. Practically bulletproof. Has anyone ever heard of a broken Detroit locker? (Seriously, I'm curious)

Well, I never seen or heard anyone wheel a Nissan that hard to break one. These rear ends are something similar to the strength of the ford 9"

I have seen a few broken detroits as well as a qite a few broken nissan rear ends ... mind you the vehicle's that spring to mind are running 36's and up .. and have a few more ponies up front that standard ..
On the otherhand I have see the 33spline version being run with 42's and an unholy 400 small block stand up to some serious abuse ..
Spend the $$$ and get the airlocker ..

So you think the 33 spline is really tough enough for 40"+ tires?

are we talking c200s? or H233s? what is breaking in them, shafts? actual carrier damage?
you say the 33 spline is pretty stout?

yea the lockers are hard to find. I dont think nissan gives a shit about there products like ford or jeep. When you have a nissan that is over 10 years old, i would give up one finding parts unless there at a junk yard, and any thing that comes from nissan is going to cost an arm and a leg. I bought a carborator from the nissan company. 1,500 dollars. You can go to any advance auto or auto zone and pay 350.
