I had some requests for some photos of the jig I use when doin FF 60's and such. This one jig works on all three but not all 60's just most. It uses a 14 bolt spindle nut and a standard 1.5" bar and I use one on each side. http://www.respite.org/images/cj66dean/60jig1.jpg http://www.respite.org/images/cj66dean/60jig2.jpg

Where did you get the alignment bar, most kits I've seen has a bar too short to do FF stuff...

I got it from a friend so not sure where he got it but I agree that they need to be about 80" or so.

OK, this being new to me (but me not being totaly stupid)...

how does this all work.

OK, you got the two ends, and they screw onto the spindles, then you have a long rod/bar (1.5 you said in your case), then I'm assuming you have two more "donuts" that you put in-place of the carrier bearings. Then slide the shaft all the way through using it to line everything up... Correct??

Is the bar any "special" material??, precision ground??, or just round-stock??

Does this assembaly have enough strength to counter the welding heat forces??, or is it just used to align it all prior to welding then check it afterwards??

How exacly were your ends made? Is there a spindle nut pressed into them or are the treads machined into them? Are they steel or aluminum? Where whould I look to purchase some of my oun??

Sorry for all the questions, I've narrowed fronts (easy), but never done a rear.... but want to start....

thanks
