I've got a rear dana 44 out of a Scout II (unsure what year), and the "brake" bar is missing, and it's gonna be a hell of a search to find one.
Anyone have a spare? Or know where I can get one?
(As you are looking at the rear brakes, drum removed, just underneath the brake cylinder there is a bar that has a spring on one end that is between the two shoes. Know what I'm talking about? :) )
TIA

Shiat! Yea, right.
When I walked in to Napa and showed them, they looked at me like my ear was on my forehead.
Odd too, for a Napa. They are usually kickass. The ones that they did find were all chevy, and wouldn't work.

I have heard that the rear brakes on a SII are the same as ~'78 T-bird. Might be a starting point.

I've also had luck finding parts call in a Ford van or PU. 1/2 Ton. The brake hardware kits are the same.
Try say a '78 Ford E-150, 6-cyl, auto, color white, no AC, broken seat, no radio <g>

NO, but I probably have the part he's looking for.
Indy, if you strike out, let me know.... I'll see if I have any surplus parts (brake set ups I'm going to toss)...
