We do not get many if any Nissan Diesels over here in the states

are you asking how to look over the vehicle to see if it has any problems? or are you wondering about specific issues with that model?

just found a car i like and wonder if there are some specific i should look for.
Nissan seems to have a solid build car reputation, but better safe than sorry!
care are similiar besides the engines i assume...

so if there is any i shoul look for we be gratefull to avoid an dissaster.

do anyone know where to buy spares for resonable price and maybe some offroad spares (springs, shocks)?

have a nice day!

The GQ or GR what it really should be called in Sweden is a strong performer in stock form, but still has a few things to be looked at.
First of all the timing belt should be changed regulary (every 60k KM's) and the engine should be equipped with the aux. oil-cooler in front of the radiator on the passenger side. Check for any water in the oil and vice versa. The RD28T has a bit of thermal problem and a cracked cyl.-head is not uncommon and means a good grand $ in parts (been there, done that :flipoff2: ).
Check the tranny for any noise and popping gears. Rust is normally only in the wheel wells and the front body mounts, everything else should be fine.
Overall said, the Patrol is a very capable and comfy ride which brings a 100% selectable locker from the factory:D
If you need parts check my new website Offroad-Factory (http://www.offroad-factory.com) , it's in german but you can contact me in english and I'll get you what you need and want.
I'll get to test-drive the 3.0 Turbo-Diesel GR this weekend, let's see how the 158 ponies behave themselves:flipoff2:
