would it be possible to take the front axels and birfs from my 410 and use them for a high angle drive shaft .......

i have seen pics of custom shafts that look kinda like birfs but i am not sure.......

one of the vendors has (or had, I'm not sure if it's still offered?) one using FWD Subaru CV's I believe.

have to come up wth an idea for a slip yoke.

I can't do more than speculate, may be too weak? hard to say.

also that's a lot of mass and reciprocating weight to be balanced without killer vibes 'cause you will have to muck with it (read: weld shit to it) to be able to bolt to the pinion/case flanges and a slip yoke...

it would be pretty unsupported compared to it's usual application in the axle with bearings

how would you keep it lubed? all the grease would fly out, and it would be instantly washed out in a mud/water hole :nuke:

:D go for it!

Brent (TT) used to offer one, not sure if he still does. A buddy of mine ran it in the front of his samurai and didn't have any problems or bad vibes as long as he didn't go above 35-40mph with the hubs locked in.

Tom Hardy used to make them, not sure if he still does.

Brent at Trail tough has mad them as well.
