just got me another toy a 90 tracker and I slapped some 30x9.5 mts on it and go out to beat this 150 dollar gem but when I have it in 4wd it feels like its fighting itself I have checked the hubs they look good cv joints look good can drive fine in 2wd with hubs locked and 4wd with hubs unlocked I dont think it has different gears in the front and rear but that is what it feels like the po didnt know too much either thanks:shaking:

Wow, definitely sounds like you either have different gears, or different sized tires.
Jack all four off the ground, and put her in 4-lo, and 1st gear, and count revolutions.

I would jack it up and check gear ratio, If it is kinda hard to shift the Tcase in gear you most likly have diffrent ratios. If you jack it up and try to put tcase in gear and goes easy the gears are for sure diffrent. Just an idea.

yeah, this is a truely wierd problem...the only time I have experienced anything like it was in my sami when I got the front locked...I the same sizetires on all 4, HOWEVER because of the treadblock difference in wear (had to buy 2newtires when Iblew them on the freeway)the tires were moving at SLIGHTLY different speeds from one another...in 4hi i could let go of the wheel and it would jump across the road.....so Iwent out and bought4 brand new tires and it fixed the problem..HOWEVER this was caused because I was locked up front. If you have an open diff up front then this shouldnt be an issue, it should allow the different tires to rotate at different speeds (whether it be from different tire size or wear) I do know some people that lock up the front first......I know its a far shot but having a locker in the front is every bit as likely as somone changing out the front diff gears for something else...infact I would say it would be more likely for them to put a locker in there, than a differnt gear set with a different gear ratio-Imean, why the fawk would you want to do that with your gears anyway? timefor a front end tear down!!

well I really dont think its a locker cause when I got it it had bling bling wheels and 40 series low pro tires so I will check the ratios and see what up

They may have swapped in 4.62's from a
auto (I am guessing it is a 5 speed) so they could get some top end back.
Maybe only the rear? good luck!

my guess would be someone wasn't aware that autos and std.s had different r&p's and swaped out one that he needed.........

yeah thats what happened just got done checking that and thats it guess I will be going to the j yard today:(
Take off the 8 bolts holding the rear drive-shaft on, throw it into 4lo, and see if it still has problems. If it does, there is a speed different between the front and rear. It's tires or R&P.
To check R&P...spin both tires at the same speed one revolution (or one tire two revolutions) and count the number of times the d-shaft spins. This will give you ratios. Front and back sound match.
