my buddy just swapped out his manual tranny for an auto 904. he also twin sticked and clocked his D300. now it won't start. here is a portion of an email he sent me:

"I'm trying! I'm having spark problems and can't get the damn thing running. the auto is mostly in and need to do a bunch of small things to get moving.
Any ideas? I've replaced the coil, ignition module, plug wires, checked and rechecked everything I can think of."

and another quote:

"It was running but every once in a while at high speed it would act like it lost spark for a sec but then be fine. It was running when I parked it.
I have no cps so The only other thing (I think) is the ignition switch. Or a broken wire somewhere."

any help out there?

he doesn't have a CPS.

i know this isn't much info to go on but maybe some suggestions could help...ya never know :)

thanks

Is the coil getting power?

Might poke around under the dash- there is a big red wire with a white stip. That wire supplies juice to the ignitin system and there is a connector on it that can cause problems. Does he have the factory installed tachometer? if the tach goes out it may cause the ignition to lose power. this happened on mine years ago..

the reason I suggest this is because he may have removed the clutch pedal and loosened some wires while doing this. There is not much room under the dash to maneuver the pedal off it's pivot without pulling on some wires.

Did he junk all the stock smog stuff at the same time? If you disconnect your computer it won't fire. Unless you do a "Nutter" bypass.
