I might be interested, depending when you do it and how the shipping will work. Will all ten be shipped to you then you will have to ship them out or will it come strait to me? How will the money be handled?
Send me a P.M. when you know a little more.

Well im glad i can help some of you guys out with good prices. I recieved a few emails w/ questions so ill just answer some of them here.

If you want a 4.3 instead of the 3.8 we can include those in on the group buy as well, still only needing 10 people in on the buy.
Price on the 4.3 would be $1,750 ($745 below advanced adapters listed retail price)

The 3.8's are $1,500 ($670 below AA' listed retail price)

As far as how i handle group buys- as soon as the needed amount of people have expressed interest in getting in on the buy i start accepting payment and shipping info. Each atlas would be shipped out to each individual buyer. If you would like an estimate on how much shipping would be ahead of time just call me, phone lines here are open from 10 to 10.
I do not bill any credit cards or cash any checks/money orders untill i have recieved payment and shipping info from the needed 10 and also untill i have recieved confirmation from AA that your specific transfercase has been shipped out. (sometimes there has been a wait on them and theres no sense billing you for 1,500 when you wont have anything to show for it for 3 weeks..)

And Jess.. good idea :) We may have to start working out some package deals together, like say an awesome price on Klunes when you purchase a set of HighAngle shafts. Crawltech.com gets a lot of traffic so it would be no problem getting enough people in on these group buys.
For those needing new shafts after their atlas install I highly recomend doing business with Jess. Ive had first hand experience with some of his shafts and they were top notch pieces of work.

On a side note, some distributors look down on doing group buys.. but they are honestly my favorite way of doing business. It enables me to give really good prices helping a lot of guys out, and it actually helps the vendor by them being able to move a lot of parts in an otherwise slow part of the year. Also, in a lot of cases with the distributor puting in large orders, it enables them to get into deeper discount pockets with the manufacturer, enabling them to give you better overal discounts outside of group buys.

I am interested but am wondering what kind of price are we looking at if we throw in the front output upgrade.

I have a price of 1849 for the 3.8 with shifter and sight tube and the front output upgrade is 299, this price is for a single unit sale.

With the group buy discount one can only assume the 1500 would include the shifter and sight tube  and a healthy discount on the front upgrade  or am I just :smokin:

Ok guys, i was just talking with Vic at Advanced Adapters bout this. (very nice guy, if you ever call AA i recomend dealing with him) He said that i should stop :smokin: and giving prices this low on atlas II's. :D Nah actually he just informed me that the bigger discounts that we get with them apply for all of their parts except for the atlas transfercases. :( I was just under the impression that it applied for all AA manufactured parts but not for other parts they sell such as Centerforce clutches.

But not to worry, if any of you guys still wanna get a group buy together i can still hook you up with some good prices. (you wont ever see these sold anywhere cheaper)
Altas 3.8 w/ shifter- $1,650

Altas 3.8- $1,650 ($520 below listed retail, $300 below cheapest price found elsewhere
Atlas 4.3- $1,895 ($600 below listed retail, $300 below cheapest price found elsewhere)
any shifter- $98
32 Spline yoke upgrade- $181
Flange Yoke 1350/1410 - $95
Flange Yoke 1350 CV - $95

While the price is still good I think AA can do better, like I said I can get a 3.8 Atlas with twin Stick and sight tube for 1849.95.

So if you throw in the $98 twinstick with the 1650 price you are only $100 dollars cheaper less than that if you throw in the price of the sight tube. I think AA can do better with a volume purchase of 10-15 units. Keep working with them they will do better. :D :D :p

bratcher,

just a friendly bit of advice - you should do some checking into your pricing structure - there are a few things you're about to find out when you get your invoice from AA that you need to know about. first, anyone in cali will automatically be charged sales tax - this will be passed on to you, so if you don't figure it in, you eat it. it's the cali tax rate, 7.7% i think. second, ADD around $15 to the shipping cost to anyone you have the atlas shipped to directly from AA (rather than having the case shipped to you then you ship to them) - AA will automatically invoice you for that also.

lastly, see if they'll give you a better rate - the following are my REGULAR prices, and i give further discounts on these a few times a year:

-3.8:1 Atlas II, complete with twin stick shifters, site tube, etc. - $1835
-4.3:1 Atlas II, complete with twin stick shifters, site tube, etc. - $2085
-3.0:1 Atlas Highlander, complete with twin stick shifters, site tube, etc. - $1835

good luck with the group buy, and feel free to email me offline (rock-dog@attbi.com) if you have any questions or need help...

If anyone can give a better deal on an atlas then by all means, by from them. Im not trying to compete here for the best price. I recently setup a new account with AA and in order to move a lot of atlas' quickly i figured id do this group buy. It would enable me to get better discounts with AA and at the same time I would be able to get you guys some good prices.

Actually, californians should be exempt from the tax. Jeremy is in TX and the transaction would be between AA and Jeremy (no sales tax because he is a reseller) and then between Jeremy (again a TX corp.) and the end-user based in CA. A texas based company does not and should not be collecting for CA based sales tax EVEN IF THE ITEM WAS DROPPED SHIPPED FROM AA TO A CA. END-USER. It all depends upon the states involved in the parties in the transaction, not where the product is manufactured.

That said: Should I get a 3.8 or 4.3. I have 4.0 XJ, auto, 4.56s, 35s, disc brakes front and rear. Rock crawling is where I spend most time on the trails. Some say I will overdrive my brakes with teh torque multiplication of the 4.3 vs the 3.8 (even the AA rep at Cal Rocks booth said this). ANy input here?

I agree. I have bought stuff from an out of state supplier and had the item drop shipped from CA and I didn't have to pay sales tax even though I live in CA. I think adding sales tax to an out of state order is against the law. You better check this because adding $150 in sales tax is going to piss off some people.

So. does anyone know what the deal with sales tax is and why AA is getting away with it?

Thanks guys for clearing this up. Ive always known that if we sell out of state we dont have to charge tax, but if we sell to someone in texas we do.
I was talking to someone at AA and they insisted that Cali tax laws were different, that if it was being sold to someone in cali it will have to be taxed. But, we are the ones accepting payement.. it doesnt matter that our supplier happens to be located in cali :flipoff2:

Sweet, so does this mean you are not going to tax us CA residents? The main reason we buy from out of state suppliers is that we don't want to pay sales tax on high dollar items.

Yes i will have to. In this situation, because we do not hold a cali resell permit AA is considered the actual retailer, not Crawltech. AA will be charging me tax so i have no choice but to charge you.

Wow, ya learn something new everyday! That is fucked up. CA pisses me off sometimes.

For those of us in Nor Cal, I suggest that we drop ship to a buddy in NV and take a trip to Tahoe for a weekend. The sales tax on an atlas will equal $200. I am steaming over this B.S.

I have someone in Incline Villiage that I do business with regularly and I trust her to ship stuff to. She makes regular trips to Sacto. I anybody needs some help with this issue, let me know.

Plus you get to deal with a Jackass Pirate 4X4 moderator and his grumpy sidekicks!:flipoff2: Plus I will give guys on this board a good price at least for now without a group buy. Not to rain on this guy's parade but I'm a legit shop with a $3600 dollar rent bill every month. As soon as Lance figures out how to make it work so I can be on just one page I'm an advertiser too. This guy is doing business without even trying to pay for use of the board. At least I'm trying to pay:rolleyes: And by the way our phone number is not 800-520-5337 it's...

800-504-5337

Let me update this I will not match these prices after I looked at it again this is not the same deal as I can offer. I can offer a good deal but not these prices. If you guys can get one for this price then go for it

Excuse me but who are you and what the hell do you know about me and my business?! :mad3:

Go ahead and give guys on this board these same prices! PLEASE, im freakin selling the transfer cases AT MY COST! It enables me to help some guys out and allows me to get bigger discounts with Advanced Adapters, enabling me to give better prices later on outside of a group buy. If you want to come on here and say you can match my prices outside of a group buy GO AHEAD, waste your time buddy. Are you just trying to be popular on here or what? So you can sell atlas II's for cheap, good for you, everybody buy from him!..

And yes you are raining on my parade, you ASSume im not legit?! Wow you pay shop rent, amazing, us too. how many employees do you write paychecks for every week? GET A CLUE
When you are confident in your own business' standing YOU WONT BE CRITISIZING SOMEONE ELSES! :mad3:

And how the hell do you know Crawltech hasnt been TRYING to pay for advertising on Pirate4x4?! Im sure Lance is getting sick of the repeated emails ive sent him checking up to see if advertising is avaliable. Crawltech will gladly pay when it is.

I never came on this board trying to make a single DIME! I NEVER target message boards for sales! If i was trying to make money off of advertising off a board i wouldnt be selling atlas II's at MY COST. You on the other hand.. stop posting your business phone number, it makes you look desperate :flipoff2:

If you are trying to advertise then Cool.

As I said I'm not trying to rain on your parade. I'm a moderator, and an advertiser. From where I was sitting I was seeing someone who hasn't even antied up for his spiffy red star, trying to advertise without paying. I can believe it if you have been trying to advertise though.

On the topic of my phone number The guy in the post got it wrong. I was correcting him. The other one connects to nothing.

Desperate? Probably about as much as you. I need to get further discounts too to keep on an even playing field with the big boys. I didn't jump in untill I saw one of my customers mis-state my phone number.

Forgot, Yes I'm an employer too. If you look in just about any 4WD magazine for the last 20 or so years in the little guy ad area you'll see our ad. With exception of just before I bought this place. Now, all I can afford is JP. But I bet you advertise in all of them right?:flipoff2:

As far as it being at cost right you are it doesn't leave much for us does it.

i will say something to support bratcher's claim... i have emailed both seabass and fearme, each twice, asking for more information on advertising so i can put something together - with NO response either time. now call me crazy, but it's pretty hard to get advertising dollars when you won't return your advertiser's inquiries. this isn't indended as a criticism - only as a heads up...
