I know a bunch of you have done the leaf conversion. I want to do this with a passenger side drop from and older Waggy. The reason is I want to mate this with a non-flipped D300 which will in turn be mated to a Klune. The question I have is what will need to be done in the T-case area. I know a flipped D300 can attatch to the factory attachments but will it work the same with out the flip and if not what will I need to do?

leaf conversions, D300 have been covered lots of times before. thats why. not even sure what your asking. if a flipped d300 attachs why wouldn't a regular one? As for the tcase area get the dimensions of a d300 and measure the area you have under the jeep.

You are the same guy from JU. Looks like you do most of your wheeling on here.......the D300 might not fit because what is and isn't included in the flip kit.
What issues will I have besides moving the exhaust to the drivers side if I put in a passenger side diff?
you'll need to clock the 300, unless you want it to hang very low. So, a clocking ring. You'll need to space the t-case and tranny apart another 1/2 inch or so to make up for the shaft length. You'll need to cut a pretty good size hole in the floor to cleer the now clocked 300. You'll also need to re-think the trackbar as the diff is now on the other side. good luck. dave

Good call on the trackbar!! I actually hadn't thought of that. Might not be a prob at all because a lot of the guys running leafs have removed thiers.
I will be using a Klune and you buy a 1/2" spacer with that for the D300 but I am not sure if I will still need to clock it.
Thanks for the advice, finally something I can use.....all in fun guys just remember.

Wow, your sharp there. Yeah it might not fit, thats why you got to go out and measure it. If it don't fit then cut till it does. Then you need to look at the front end and see what the driveshaft is going to "cut" through. Leaves don't run a track bar so thats not going to be a problem.
and there's quite a few posts about D300 in ZJ and YJ's enough to give you an idea of what to expect.

The driveline shouldn't run through anything but I don't think I am going to be able to tell for sure until I have the D300 up on the truck. As far as the trackbar, some people are running with it on and some aren't. It does help avoid Death Wobble from what I have read but some people say you don't need it if you are set up right.
