I just purchased a HP 44 and want to have high-steer. I've done a lot of reading on the subject in the last few days and am more confused than when I started. I read Mr. N's page and he says to use the Ford Super Cab knuckles, but I'm wondering how easy it will be to find those. The junkyard owners are asses around here and don't want to help me out. I was wondering if all D44 inner knuckles were the same. I already need to buy rotors (old ones are cracked), hubs and a second caliper, so could I just buy any outer assembly with flat top knuckles and have it bolt up to my diff? Any knowledge on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

You pretty much got it all right.

I you swapped the entire outters you could then go with chevy outters just as easily. only big difference in the spindle bolt pattern.

Give Tim a call. I got my flat tops from him.

Mid 80's Dodge will work too.

I used dodge outers (knuckles out) on mine with the five lug hubs and it works great!

So, as a clarification, the dodge knuckles are a good set-up for high steer on a dana 44?
