I have a Warn XD9000 winch that says it was made in 1985. It seems to be in pretty good condition, my question is can you freshen them up (new elec. new cable, etc.) Or send them somewhere to do it for you? I guess they dont go bad?? Anyways its free so I thought I would ask you guys what you think.

Yes you can purchase rebuild kits new cable, solenoids etc.

We have had several winch motors rebuilt at local alternator shops. If you need one rebuilt try a local shop first as it will save you some cash on the rebuild plus no shipping to deal with.
