v6's and dual cases? what is the deal with the v6's having a different case. excuse my ignorance but i don't run a toy but i am trying to get some info for a buddy. he has a v6 toy and wants dual cases. what can be done? he also has a parts truck with a 22r in it. can the tranny and x-case from that truck be put in place of the v6 tranny?any help would be appreciated, thanks

I'm runnin a V6 yota, so I had recently looked into this. Benny Boy's link to Marlin's site is the best place around for this info, but here's what I've picked up:
You can't run crawler gears or dual cases with the V6 tcase, because it is chain driven which = too weak. That means you will have to pick up some adapters, and the gear driven 4 cyl tcase. I believe the 21 spline tcase from an EFI 4cyl, 85-88, are the best cases for this swap.
You might also want to check with Advance Adapters on this. They have many free booklets with some good info. I cannot remember if their web page has all the info, but here it is- www.advanceadapters.com
