Some one told me that some one makes a spring perch for springing over my YJ with a D44. The problem is the pumpkin housing is in the way of where the perch should sit. I've seen people grind down the pumpkin and put the perch there. I have heard a rumor of something easier? Whats your thoughts?:usa:

Grind down the perch to fit the housing.

there's nothing really easier.. you don't have enough material in the average spring perch to grind it down. so you have to grind in to the housing to get the perch on right.. and also grind in to it to get the u-bolt on right.

This is what I had todo to mine to get it to fit on the CJ,

Over all it didnt take me very long, about an hour and one grinding wheel, When you get your grinding wheels get the extra coarse ones if you can..

a ford front end is already sprung over with the spring perch in the casting, all you have to do there is weld the old hole and re-drill the correct one.

What about using a square U-bolt on a Waggy front axle where the casting is in the way. I think this is what Im going to do it will be stronger with a square u-bolt anyways so any one got any pics of something like that, its on a YJ on the Drivers side .:skull:
