Yeah, just a simple lockrite install gone bad.
I removed the diff cover, then started taking the lock screw that holds the center pin in... it was a little tough but with a little touque it came... at least half of it did!!
So, now I can't get the center pin out cause the lock bolt is broken. I attempted to extract it, but I can't get a good angle w/ my drill, can't pull the carrier cause I can't take the drive shafts out cause I can't get to the C-clips.
Any ideas? Obviously that screw needs to be extracted, but I can't seem to make headway on it.
Thanks!

That sucks man! Try an angle drill possibly??? Might need to scrap the carrier to save the rest of the parts. That should be a cheap or free item to replace, once you can get it out. Drill parallel to the cross shaft right against it, through the bolt, then rotate the carrier and drive the shaft out. Just a thought, no guarantees here! LOL:(

Drill out the pin? Dont lock wrongs come with a new pin anyways? Or..if the screww is already broke can you just beat the fuck out of the pin till the screw breaks all the way and lets the pin out? :(

I'd try one of these. Possibly heat it up then beat it with a BFH and drift.

This is an easy question. It's a D35 right? Just drive it. You're bound to break something eventually. Maybie if you're lucky it will be the carrier pin. That's what happened to me on New Years day while snow-wheeling. Best fix for this is to upgrade to a Ford 8.8.

:flipoff2:
Yeah, I agree. It's my girls Jeep. I told her she needed to upgrade anyway but she just looked at me like I was a dick for messing w/ her Jeep. :p
It's fine now.. I don't think the center pin is going anywhere. I wanted her to be locked up though so I guess we have to think of something else.
Thanks for the feedback!

the same happened with my 8.8
on the LS carrier
I had to grind the screw out to get the ls out so I could put a detroit in

same thing happened to me on my exploder 8.8, heres how I fixed it..
1)decided the DD didn't need a locker.
2)put broken bolt back in.
3)put EZ locker on Ebay.

Or how about just welding it? I'm pretty sure you don't have to take the spiders out to weld it up.:D
