The HEI Ignition is $300

Mels (Similar to Petronix) is $100 at JT Outfitters.

What benifits dose the HEI over the Mel's kit. Is it worth the extra $200?

you can find the pertronix for about $65-$70, I would not waste the money at JTO, it is the same as the Mels stuff...

Mine is a 77, don't see the Petronix for my year.

But what I was really interested in is trading them against the HEI Distributor

1. Petronix does not make a unit for the later dizzies
2. As much trouble as some have had with the GM HEI,in the drive gear area........ personally I would go with the JTO unit or a complete setup off an FJ60
