First, how do I spot them?? I found a waggy (or Cherokee, have to re-check) i the pick-n-pull and the front axle is still all there (amazing!!!). Its disc, 6-lug, no lock-outs (drive slugs I'm assuming), drivers drop. Rear looks to be a model 20.

How do I determin if this is the dis-liked "vacuum disconect" version??, what is the vacuum disconnect??, how does it vary from a normal D44?? Can it be set up like a normal one (with solid shafts, ect)? or is th casting different??

I was thinking of grabbing it becasue they are cheap, and I can use the brake parts if nothing else or possibly parts for a future progects or trade fodder.......

If it's a vacuum disco version there's going to be a spot in the long side tube for it, just like a D30 or any other axle. Look for a square port with 4 bolt holes that lets you look in to the tube.

The vacume disconnects on the D44 Waggy's, are not onthe axle tube like a D30. It is actually on the pig itself. Im not sure how it works, but I have heard that you can still use them for a swap. Id like to open one up and see how the system actually works.
