With future plans of 38's or 39's, obviously stronger steering components are a must (ie. tie rod and drag link ) but what about the rest of the system. DO I need a ram? Will my stock TJ steering box hold up for a while? Whats your opinion?

Me I'm thinking redneck ram but will I still be able to use the rig as a daily driver around town?

:D

I ran with 40s with stock box and sag pump once! On going down hill the tire wanted to dig either left or right into the band and was VERY difficult to steer out of. Street driving was not all that bad, but you will notice a difference with the ram. I would recommend going hydro assist. It is worht it. No resistance off road!

Buy the ram assist when you buy the tires. You will need it. With a 1.5" ram your steering will still be very responsive.

Hydro assist is one of the best mods I ever did.
