I dropped in to my driveway from the roof of my Willys and the rear triangle cracked....
actually, I went for a mud ride on the local trails and was cleaning my bike the next day and found a crack :(... I'm trying to get Pacific to warranty it, but they want the original invoice (or a copy of) to warranty it...I bought it used so this is a problem...
anyone have any connections at Pacific/GT?? or a bike shop in Utah that will write me up an invoice from mid last year???
TIA

Pete - most companies only warranty the bike for the original owner. If that receipt has a name on it it could screw your deal. Might try a different dealer as a walk-in.

Yeah...I've got that figured out already...I was on the phone with Pacific this morning and told them my step dad bought it for me and he lives in Utah... The guy I got it from said he will tell them the same thing if they check up... hope it works...
I'm warrantying it down here anyway (so cal) I might just have the bike shop write it up under the original owners name... the shop feels bad for me (and a few other GT customers) and I've brought them quite a bit of business between all the guys in my little group, so I'm 99% sure he'll take care of me....:crossingfingers: :)

Go buy another and help support the economy and your bike company.

I'd advise that you get your frame warrantied and then go sell it and buy a better bike. Every friend that I know who has bought an i-drive has broken their frames...and it's been either in the rear triangle or its in the seat tower. I got friends that work for bike shops and know the gt reps on a personal basis and even they can only get a new frame once. You'll break the frame again dude...sell it and get a better bike. The I-drive was a good idea gone bad. The frame rides great but is incredibly weak. Check out a Santa Cruz Heckler, a Kona Stinky 5, Rocky Mountain Slayer, or something thats built better. Sorry to hear about your predicament though.
