I plan on buying some 15x10 chrome steel wheels and running them on my rig for a while and possibly do DIY beadlocks later. The only thing is I don't want my wheel 1.5-2" wider. I heard that you can cut off the outer ring of the wheel and then add the beadlock and keep the same wheel width. Is this true? Has anyone done it or have pics? Thanks

i wouldnt say i have heard of people trimming the rim...but the best option for you would be to plan ahead and buy a 15x8 rim now and then when you are ready....following the directions given for the DIY beadlocks..weld them on... the 15x8 DIY i have seen come out to be about 15x9.5 or so....

just a bit wider

i would suggest against cutting the rim to save width

I agree with yunaderis....go 15x8 and then do the DIYs later.
