Did IH ever use a front sump pan and if so when and on what? Does anyone make an aftermarket version of such a pan?

what he said :D

I *belive* that the '74/'74 t-all/PU had a rear sump, not the same as the double hump Scout pan (simular, but no hump).

I got a couple spare front sump pans if you need one.

Also, you CAN get the front sump oil pump NEW and reman, the Scout style pump is only avaliable as a rebuild kit. FYI.

well why didn't you say so :flipoff2:

Closest your going to get is a Scout II pan. Problem is the oil pump is in the front, and it has to hang down "so" far.....

Scout pan is of the "double hump", the afformentioned rear-sump t-all/pu pan is the same depth, they just removed the indentation between the humps and smoothed it out.....

what are you doing/trying to do??

well, at the risk of offending a bunch of IH owners. I am trying to help someone else put a 345 from a 72 1100 series pu into a cj7 jeep and the oil pan is just plain getting in the way. The scout frame we were originally going to use was bent from a wreck it was in. I think we have a solution but it is a lot of work.

The Scout pump n' pan are designed so the front axle comes up where the hump (mid-block) in the pan is.

If you move it forward or backwards, you're in trouble. :)

Move the engine forwards and you could run a front-sump if you wanted.. move it back, and you have to go at least 10" back or more..
