The one above is a tube frame Clod Buster.

Here is a mid-project pic of my T-Maxx rock crawler. No more independent.
Now what I call an "angled" straight axle.

I just saw something at Radioshack that was funny - they now sell Avalnches Sniper!
The body is the same anyway, but it has IFS (probably just threw it on one of their existing chassis).

But I thought it was cool, that rock crawling is going mainstream enough for radio shack...

That thing is badass... Got any more pics or specs.
I have 3 T-Maxx's. One needs to be a crawler.

rocktoy I thought you were the same guy from rcmt.
You can't beat locked diffs in the clods. I bet mine can go places most peoples real rigs can't go. got any side shots of the t-maxx and what gears are you running. that shits :rasta:

How much does a Clod Buster, or T-Max(complete) cost?

Is there much of a used market for these things? If so , I would think about buying a used one if the price was right

Thanks,
Sean

Clod are about $200 new but you only use the gear boxs and tires in the long run. Check e-bay and rcmt.com. The t-maxx are just under $400. If you want a crawler go with the clod, if you want a speedy jumping machine get a t-maxx
the t-maxx is gas and being gas that means it will be harder to start out in the hobby and more stressful, but I still love it.

Jay,

You have been busy, That new truck is very clean. You are
always one step ahead. My oldest boy has the Maxx. I was looking at ways to give it more flex. Now I have to get the truck away from him so I can do some mods :D

Do you still have your bender on your web page?

I know this should go in for sale, but my room mate is selling his tmaxx. It comes complete with a field box, electic fuel pump, control panel, and electric starter. He's only run 4 tanks of gas through it and is asking $350. Pm me if interested

thanks

This depends on the level you want from your RC truck.

The Clod is an old design and has tons of after market support.
You could purchase everything to make the clod a kick ass truck
or you could make the stuff yourself.
just to make a point of how strong they are. I have pulled my son who is around 65 # in a waggon with the clod.

the Max is fairly new but does have a good amount of after market stuff too. The Maxx is cool in that it is twin motors and propeller shafts to the diffs.

another cool truck is the second generation juggernaut.

you can get a solid axel 4x4 at radio shack for under 50 bucks on sale, two speed gearbx and with a little grinding with a dremel it will flex well(not like that maxx but its under 50$) i have sprent many hours wheeling in the living room. its not quite as fun as wheelin but it sure beats TV

I think the straight axle RC trucks can out crawl the independent ones. There are numerous kits for the Clod that can be used with some modification to make your own crawler....or simply build your own chassis. I think my Clod will out crawl an E-Maxx but is limited by clearance under the gearboxes. I expect this new truck to do much better with the much higher clearance.

You have to be kidding me. Have you ever seen a T-Maxx run? Your $50 10yr old toy isnt the same. BTW I have a running gas Tmaxx with starter, battery charger, and some other little knick knacks that I need to get rid of if anybody needs one. I have run one gallon of fuel through it. $275

Ya the T-Maxx rocks...

I've got one, but added the Supermaxx suspension.. Huge difference.. Widens truck stance by 1.2" No more roll-overs on pavement, and way more suspension travel

Next to come will be .21 engine conversion.....!!!!
