which housing? what kind of trouble? You gotta be a little more specific if you want some decent answers. There's a way to make everything work somehow. Clarify what it is you are trying to do, and someone on this board will have all the info you need. I guarantee it.:D

I'm talking about the front dana44 axle chevy full size blazer use. Because i don't want to cut the tubes of the front axle would i have problems when i relocate the spring perches whith that which is near to the housing. My spring perches is on 26" and d44 31,25".

search on "outboard" in the Jeep forum. What yer gonna have to do is outboard yer springs to get the axle placed correctly. Other than that, yer set.......... unless the fact that yer fenders will never cover yer tires bothers you:confused:

I think he wants to know about the perch thats molded into the housing. What he needs to do to change the position to fit in a CJ.
Putting a full size axle in a CJ, he wants to recenter the perches and doesn't know how to move them.

I'll try to be even more specific. To use full size axle the perches must be relocated. The perche that it is in the long side tube you can move it with out any problem, there is space to do that. Now the perche that it is on the narrow tube, when i relocate it, is it there a possibility that the perche have to be weld on the axle housing

You need to outboard your springs. This means move your attaching hardware to the outside of the frame. Try looking here outboard search (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=1332682&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) this might provide you with some information on how to do this or where to start looking.
I don't think you can move the short side perch since it's part of the housing

Hye Fivos -

Not putting Blazer junk in my rig but close (4.3L V6, 465, D20 (Novak conversion), Waggy 44's front and rear). I have a 1962 -5. My advice to you: build your own frame. Also note you will have to mod the firewall for steering conversion (power steering, Sagniaw) as well as overswing pedals so you can use the power brakes and hydro clutch.

If you are going that far, do not use the original frame - it's a noodle and prolly quite rusted. If you do make a frame, stretch the wheelbase so the vehicle won't be so tippy, say to 94" (from 81" stock). Full width cheb axles aren't all wide on your Jeep, you'd be surprised how nice they fit.

Several good fabricators have done this and most admit it might have been easier to start with a new tub. The Jeep board has mega posts on this. Lemme know what help you need and I will do what I can

Good luck

The jeep is daily drive so is not for hardcore rock crawling. I'm not even going to use larger than 31"s. I just want to upgrade it because i have allready brake once the stock d44 axle driveshaft and the planetary gear the way i use it.

It isn't worth to use chevy axles? I don't know what else i can find to use here in Greece. Tommorow i'll go to the junkyard and search a little bit more. You know i like full size. What else i can use for SOA?
