I know this is off the 4x4 topic, but I have a 1990 Tracker with window problems. The side windows are terribly hard to roll up. I put another actuator? in the driver side, and its no better. I tried to adjust it and grease it and anything else I could. They just don't want to roll up without help. I guess they are worn out. The other one I put in was probably worn out also. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to adjust/fix them? And please don't say leave them rolled down because I drive it on the highway a lot and it would get cold in the winter.
Thanks for any help.

Pull the doors off.

Sorry, I really have no useful input for you. Go to a body shop, they won't charge you to offer a bit of advice. Aome more options would be a window tinting shop, a detailing shop, etc...

I found that after playing hard that the window frames tend to get a little bent inward what i did on buddys rig with simular problem was to try pulling on the top of the window frame outward, while he tried to roll it up, His got loose and went up no problem so we both pulled on it and bent it slightly outward not much and it worked killer, yours might need to be bent inward try getting buddy to pull on top of frame and if that dont free it up then try pushing it inward. This works on samurais also, if the door mechanisim isnt destroyed. Just sompthing i found that worked ;)

I'll try pulling on them, but I'm not sure thats the problem. The windows were like that when I got it and I know it had never seem any real 4 wheelin action. It tries to shift forward in the track. It's almost like the front of the window is binding on something and the back is free to slide so it tilts forward then hangs.

nope, wrong...........i just had this problem with mine....... pull the door pannel, theres little white plastic sliders in the middle of the door that guides the window, the wear out, you can ajust them, but thay might be like mine at too worn out to be ajusted..... you need a new one.....:flipoff2:

Can you get new white plastic pieces without replacing the whole track? If so, where?
