I am putting an sm465 in my cruiser and found out that 1 1/2" exhaust tube works perfect to sleeve the throwout bearing shaft on the 465. I have read about people getting a piece of tube and splitting it to make it work. I just stopped by the local exhaust shop and he gave me a piece 3" long for free.

It possibly could. I am putting it in a trail only rig, and I plan on pulling the engine this summer, so I will be able to check it then to see how the wear is. I think it will be ok though, especially for free.
