Anyone tried the RAD air valves from Klune, Look like a pretty good idea except for the price.

Thanks

There was a review on these in one of the mags, not sure which one. I think it might have been last month.

They do look cool, but I don't feel like pulling my shait apart to put them in.

I wanted them, but ended up getting the MRT low profile stems. I guess I'll just air down "the old fashion way":D I thought they were a bit to spendy as well.

any pics?

i am going to change my stock valve stems to a design that does not stick out of the rim so it can't get torn out by rocks. i could care less about airdown since i am always aired down i need ones that can't get torn out.

looks like the mtr is lower profile. the RAD looks like it would get ripped right out.

the RAD sticks up 1 3/16

anybody have a measurment on the mtr since they don't list it?

Camo, the MTR i think is as low as you could go without being inside the rim.

2 totaly different concepts, just depends on how long you like waiting to air down.

Do you still rip valves out with beadlocks or your not runming them.

Have any of you guys tried the screw on type air down valves, Not sure what you call them over their in the US, we have a copy over here in OZ

Does she come with em? :p If so I am sold!

On a more serious note, I saw a set for the first time at Cal rocs and was impressed but I would not see a use for em. The only time I air up is when driving the rig to the con instead of pulling it. Which doesn't happen all that often.

Yeah, they are made by Quick Air. The same place that makes the under hood compressors. A set of 4 is $50 and air down anywhere in the 8-20 PSI range. Not worth it IMHO since I go below 8.

Unfortunately in Oz most rigs are driven to the trails, most rigs are daily drivers, the sport is just starting to get bigger with more trailered rigs comming onto the trails

I run 8 PSI as street pressure and drive the piss outta that thing. i was just saying on long trips. Such as driving to the con. Cruiser doesn't see a trailer only flat pulled. :flipoff2: 8 PSI stays unless it's over an hour or so away. So when you're ready to go to OZ, let me know, cause I wanna go too! :flipoff2: :D

How do you find the MTR's, do they loose air when you take the cap off or is their some sort of valve that stops them from leaking air.
Is it a pain to air down having to put the tube in first or is their something i am missing.

ok you guys, summit racing has the same thing for $5 bucks a pair and come with a inflator. they SUCK. yes they keep the stem away from branchs and such but when you are airing up and down it takes for ever. when you are putting air in them it leaks around the threads. btw there is a valve core under the little button head. but if you do get them go to the hard ware store and get some lil o-rings ro put on the inflators. and i havent tried this yet but get a file and trim the little ring on the rod that comes out the inflator. that might make it faster to air up and down.

Just was looking around on their site, and I heard the sold valve stems, and I needed some for my new beadlocks. I just ordered them Wednesday, so I haven't got any more info for you yet.

Trailrunner seems to allready have an opion on a "similar" product, and is assuming all other "SUCK" as well. Hope he's wrong.

if some one will post them i will get pics of mine and show you all. I hope im wrong too. but they do there job of keeping valve stems from being pulled out so yes the ones i have do there job no problem, its just that when airing up and down it leaks around the base of the inflator and its slow as eel snot to get air in and out of the tire.
