: How much drop do I need

My FJ60 has a custom bumper with 2" square receiver. From the bottom of the receiver to the ground is about 33". I am looking for a hitch with enough drop to bring it down to "standard" height for U-Haul type tow dollys and trailers. Any advice on how much drop I should get? What is a "standard" trailer height?

TIA.

Isn't one. You will have to measure the type of trailer you will use most, then get a ball mount with enough drop to match. Sounds like you might need a 6" drop.

My 16' flatbed is about 17" from the top of the coupler to the ground. If you were hooking up to my trailer (pretty typical design as far as trailers go) you'd need about 16"  of drop!

That's close to the amount I had guesstimated....wasn't sure if I was in the right ballpark. Hard to find 16" of drop :D

Maybe I'll put 31" tires on the FJ60 to reduce the drop and drive REAL slow. It's only for some local hauling to get my stripped down project FJ40 from my old house to my new one.

Or maybe I'll just have to pony up the bucks to hire a flatbed wrecker to do the hauling for me...
