This 81 is 4sale in the 4sale section. has a later efi motor, wierd thing is, was the dash factory? it is of the 84-88 style. check it out.

he dosen't say so, and i would think all the work involved one would say something. Bossman put a 90 something dash in his 79-83 he isw selling, I have not seen pics of that one, I'am sure it wouldn't be that easy:eek: :eek: :eek:

There's a guy with an 81 in Cameron Pk who did it to, he said it was not that hard, and fit nice!

A friend in SLC bought a 80 long bed with a 87 style dash and Gauge cluster, and even a Toy automatic trans. the truck was striped and then junked but the dash stuff looked as if it almost bolted in with little cutting and wedging....

i was curious about that too. when i did my conversion i thought about swapping dashes. but it looked to be a bitch to me. the stock 79 bolts in with like 6 screws, and there must be 150 to get the later style out. it took me almost all day to pull the dash out of the donor.

I was talking to Marshall when he owned that truck. He swapped in the EFI and EFI dash at the same time. He said the swap was time consuming, but worth the trouble. He had to build a few new mounts behind the dash. Fits great. He bought a totalled 4runner to do the swap.

Hey, man my truck get sround more after i sell the dang thing. anyways i sold it to a friend of mine i cali. yeah that dash is out of a 85 runner, so is the engine and just about evertything else.
It wasn't easy doen it but it was better then splicen all the wired for the dash board and stuff. anyways to asnwer your question it aint the stalk dash board.
