How many of you guys that are sprung over use the cruiser for a daily driver, or have used one in the past? the reason i ask is i may have an opportunity to sell my car and use the money to finally get the cruiser up and running with the 350/465 , and i plan on going spring over w/ 35's. any and all feedback is appreciated, thanks, Matt

depend son what your daily driving is. i drove mine to the trails all summer. my friend drives his jeep with 5.0 every day. its mainly wear and tear on your tires more than anything assuming your gonan run expensive swampers or soemthing. jiMMy FJNOTCJ

I ran mine 30 miles one way to work for about 90 days back in 98 when the wife wrecked the truck.
I had 35" BFG Mt's on it with the RS9000's cranked up all the way.
It is a winding hilly drive through a canyon and it did great.
Used to drive it on the road a lot, but I wouldn't trust it down to the corner now. It's been trashed pretty hard the last couple years.

I've been driving sprung over cruisers as daily drivers for the most part for the past 13 years or so. Right now my daily is between my FJ60 (sprung over w/35/s) and my 97 Chevy 4x4 1 ton dually.

Sprung-over FJ62, daily driver, 10,000+ miles on the last 14 months. Fantastic on and off-road, but a PITA to get in and out of the truck, and forget about parking it anywhere covered. Other than that, two thumbs up, I love it.

I've been driving my sprung over sixty for about a year & have done about 18k including a couple of 5 hour trips. it does great but when I run it hard on the weekends I have to back off so I can still drive to work on monday. about 2 months ago I snapped my front shock mounts for the 3rd time. I've been driving w/ my rear rs9000's on 5 but I only drive on the streets (below 50mph). I just picked up another 60 for a daily driver (tbi350,700r4 & ome's) & I miss the SOA. the spring over w/ stock springs is much smoother than the OME'd SUA fj60. I'd say theres no better thing than to drive a cruiser daily, especially one thats SOA!!!

soa/sr/reversed spring 68 v8j40 hauls me to and from work...nothing like the hum of swampers to calm you after a crappy day of trying to make a few dimes to buy new swampers.

I drove my SOA FJ40 as a day driver and for travel at work for the better part of 2.5 years. I put lots of miles on the beast and found the truck very road worthy. I ran 35*12.5 BFG MT's and RS9000's. Highway cruzin' was 70-85 easily.

A lot has to do with a good clean SOA. If you choose to skimp on parts or work needed (ie I know 2 guys that swear you do not need to cut and turn the knuckles and another guy that refused to pay for a "rabbit ear" steering arm) you will end up with a truck that might not be safe or comfortable at highway speeds. Heck - I've seen SOA's done so poorly, the truck was not safe at crawlin' speeds.

Just my humble opinion.
