Hey-
After all the recent post's on security/anti-theft, I thought I'd review the install of the EFI Fuel Pump disconnect switch I have on my truck.
First off, My truck is a 1987 EFI 22RE short bed.
THIS PROCEDURE IS VALID FOR MY TRUCK ONLY, CHECK THE WIRING SCHEMATIC FOR YOUR YEAR!!!
1. Remove passenger side doorsill cover-
Under the carpet and passenger side door sill cover is a wire bundle w/ the connector block under the passenger seat.
2. Locate the solid blue wire.
While your truck is running, use a tester to check for current. This SHOULD be the fuel pump power wire.
3. Unwrap the wire bundle to expose enough wire to add in your splice. Clip the wire at the point you want to add the splice. With the wire cut, start your truck. It should only run for a minute or less if the proper wire was cut.
4. I used two small 18 gauge PosiLock type connectors to splice in the wire/switch combo. Determine where you want the switch to be located and use enough wire to get there!!
That's it-
A simple, effective, anti-theft switch!!
