I currently have the junk one year only (87) np207 and I was thinking of swaping it for a np231..... What all is different about these.. It is behind a 700r4 and 350 TBI.....

Will bolt right up as long as its a gm 231, the main difference is the 231 has a lower 2.72:1 low, Ive had em both apart before, their slightly different internally but so similar its really just the same slut with different make-up. Neither of them I would call junk as they are 26 spline I believe with 1.17" input and output shafts but I wouldnt call either a beefy case cuz of the chain drive either, both suitable for wheelin though in my book, I got 2 of em hooked together 207-231 doubler and have no strength issues.:D
