OK, I've searched around and haven't found anyone talking about this at all. So my idea is to put a toyota mini truck t-case with 4.7 gears behind my T18 trans in my CJ7. Has anyone ever done this or heard of it. I know Marlin shows an adapter for a ford T18 but will it bolt to the Jeep version? I've heard it will but I'd like to know if anyone has heard of or done it.

No one even has a comment? Is there some reason not to this swap. I've got a Dana 20 now and have heard the Tera low gears are crap. Two guys in my club have broken aet and one guy broke two sets. I'd rather not go that route for only 3.15:1. I don't think it's worth it. Come'on give me some feed back.

Don't ask us questions abour Marlin's products... call Marlin. output bolt pattern for the Ford T18 will be different from the Jeep T18, but by how much, I couldn't say.

I'mrunning an atlas, but you may end up with the same issue. I dont like my granny tranny with the REAL deep first gear because often times 1st is too low and 2nd is way too high. Just something to think about.......:p
You would probably like it better in the long run if you went to a close ratio tranny like a T-19 if you were going to go that low in the t-case. imho

I'm not asking about the product. I'm asking if anyone has done this swap and/or knows anyone who has. I'd like some opinions on the idea. That's all.

Not sure on this one, but I think the kit you are refering to is used in place of the d300. The d20 tcase has a different bolt pattern and would not work if this is the case. I ran into this when putting my t18 in and found that a 300 would not fit. I ended up getting a ford version and did the conversion for the 300 with 4:1 gears.
The difference is not clear in this picture, but you can see the adapters required.
The upper is the Jeept18/20 from a FSJ
The lower one is the Ford18/d300 I got used from the for sale forum with the 4:1 kit

The Ford T-18A rear main housing has a different bolt pattern than the Jeep T-18A.
I don't know about the Marlin box, but the adapter for the D300 to the T-18A is made for the Ford.
