Arriving Moab area Sunday evening April 25th....departing for home Sunday morning, May 2nd.

There's another "official" Moab thread on ih8mud and another one here on Pirate, Jason M discussing his tri-tips. ;-)

You guys are lucky. I'm going to make it down Thursday night late 29th or in the morning the 30th. And I have to head out early the 2nd. So I'm driving 11 hours each way for a day and half of wheeling. Not to mention I'm bringing my 14month (then 16month) son with me by myself. I'm beginning to question my own sanity. So I'm not going on the organized runs. I figured it would be selfish to keep somebody out who could be there the whole time. Really I could probably only make the Sat. run anyway.

Just got my CM04 confirmation postcard yesterday. I will be arriving on Sunday, 4/25 and leaving on Sunday 5/2.

i've already been told i have to be there by the club and cruise moab committee...damn..guess i'll have miss work to go wheeling:D

So what trails are you guys running? Speak up, so I know ahead of time who to avoid...and vice versa:)

I'll be there Wednesday through Sunday. It's fun to see so many cruisers in one place. Taking lots of film.

Yes with luck Brett, I have been busting ass on it.. Plan is finish body work this week then take it to proffitt's next Fri/Sat and with luck it will be ready on Sunday for the trip home... Then mostly little stuff, interior, tuning and wiring. And put in some locked thirds (when I get a chance I'll give you a ring about that Mark Smith shaft that I'll need)... But yes I think it should be ready just in the knick of time!

PS yes I can't wait for Moab!

Brett if you and your buddie want to fly into SLC I'd be glad to pick you up and head down... My plan is probably along the lines of Weds-Sun...

I've finally got my sh!* together at the right time of year. My truck seems to always be in pieces that week. I just got some new rubber and new seats. Added a CB. I'm trying to fix some of the little things bootiefab before I get there. Just got my congratulations card.

Me and SeldomSeen UncleFloppy will be there. We plan on coming down thursday night. I haven't gotten my confirmation post card yet. I do plan on helping where I can, though.
I am hoping for Hells Revenge on Friday and Golden SPike on Saturday, though, I am volunteering, so who knows what trails I will get.

I haven't received my confirmation yet and I'm just now starting a clutch replacement, Toybox install and axle overhaul but I'll be there no matter what.
I must admit though, I'm not looking forward to that drive again. 1100 miles across Ca, Nev, & Utah in an open top, 2F powered cruiser with unbalanced swampers is a tough price to pay for 4 days of wheeling. But if it is as fun as CM02 it will definitely be worth it.

Bossman just approved my schedule; I'm in Boys!! Looks like driving the ole company truck from New York City to Bonham. Load up on my staples of Skoal, flour tortillas, Shiner Lite, and ...oh ya... swap into the tow rig and head on. Let's see... couple days to TX, couple days to Moab (gotta be close to 3000 miles total).... reckon that puts me into Slickrock Sunday evening, the 25th. Most excellent.

I will be there as a rider:p I am riding with two good friends that will be towing a 55 and 40. Both trucks are.....let's just say.... unique:cool: None like them anywhere else! Boy. it will be great to meet all you guys. :D

I'll be there, But I'm gettin' soft in my old age. I'll be towing my 40 this year. But I did drive it from Cali. to CM '99, '00, & '01. It's kinda funny, I'm doing easier runs this year when I can tow my junk home if it breaks. The other 3 times in moab I did the hard stuff(pritchett, upper heldo, ect.) when I knew I still had to drive it 900mi to get home:confused:

I WAS planning on going, but I'm not going to make it. :( (as if anyone cares.) So, instead, I'm going to try to make the Dangerously Close to the US run in the fall.

Right now I'm getting ready for a trip to Cailfornia and then Idaho. I'm leaving tomorrow for the Red Desert, then I'll be in Orem Friday at noon (to drop my truck at Royal's) then I'll be in Kali (and will pick up split rims at specter) and then back to Orem to get the pig, and up to Moscow to visit UofI on the 9th. Saturday and Sunday I get to spend the whole time driving the 1047 miles back to Cheyenne. :D :rolleyes:

Thanks for the info on Salmon airlines and flying into Grand Junction. My wife will ride out there with me instead of flying since we're leaving on Monday 4/26 and arriving on Tuesday 4/27. Plan on doing Upper and Lower Helldorado on Wed.

I remember when all of you fawkers came rolling through at around midnight or later, there were a few of us camped at the trailhead. I am the one who saw the note for Henry Brimmer and passed on the message to him as you guys were leaving... Must have been a blast, it was my first CM and I thought that was the coolest!

Got the Rockstomper GM-Toyota Mastercylinder in and have mucho brakes. Friday I put in the Longfields and Pig inners. :D :D :D (I thinks it's odd to carry the Marfields and Newfields as spares!) Now I just need to wire in the 12v Igloo and mount it so it won't dump it if I tump. (and put the roof back on, and one more fender to skin...)

GF had knee surgury on Friday. I have not been able to work on the truck at all because of it. Jeremiah and I had agreed on this weekend (which will leave me exactly 1.5 weeks before Moab). Sucks, because everything is in place, all of my parts have arrived and I just don't have the time to get it done :( Not ruling it out but looks like my rig probably won't be ready :(

Sure hope you get it together! If not, come anyway, put the remaining parts in the back, and I bet you can find a few helpers to knock it all out in no time. (Look for the LSLC banner) I wouldn't mind helping. I have a few tools.

reminds me...outta scrap an Aisin for a spare instead of the Warn POS....another item for the list...

nope...no hub. I carry a pair of spare Warns, just in case. I'll probably run the one on there..it's been that way a while, I'm guessing. I may take it apart again and look. I'm going to drill out for larger studs anyway.

Big thing with "this weekend" is this is the one for paint, otherwise it's bare metal and filler come Moab. We'll see, poor GF is pretty laid up but should be back on her feet shortly. Unforunately duty calls and of course she's having a tough time understanding why I want to spend all my time working on my truck instead of being there for her :( We'll see it's not totally out of the running yet. And I might just rely on you guys it sure would be fun to actually do some wrenching with all of you guys...

Was able to get on it tonight. I pretty much determined that there is no way (maybe a small chance in hell) that I could have it ready and even then it would be half ass. So, rig is out. Alan, I'll definetely take that seat :) Thanks guys and bummer, it was sort of something I was really hoping for but why rush, I have taken my time and tried to do it as best as possible with my budget and abilities so far, why half ass it for the last part of it... Bummer though :( And then there is the girlfriend thing too of course :D

Just pulled the plug on taking my rig yesterday. The list on my 40 is just too great to get done (right) vrs. Standing orders that have to get out before I leave. . :( No worries I will still have a blast. I am still going down, I will be on stand by for shotgunning/spotting and shooting a ton of video and photos. Should be a fun week and I know I will have a blast rig hopping.

Might have to tack on another TLCA event now just to get my driving fill for the year. Hmmm.

I'm schedule to fLy a trip on Tue and Wed and get home late Wednesday night. The original plan was to leave early Thur morning, have lunch in Telluride (Yes, taking the long way) and roll into Moab in time to check into the hotel and make the Potluck/beer swap at Slickrock Campground.

New plan is that I forsee I'll have a problem with my eyes (can't see going to work ;) ) on Tue/Wed and call in sick and slide the original plan up a day to make the Elephant Hill trip!!:D

Speaking of ideas: Go to a carpet store and get yourself some carpet samples. Last year's model or colors. Toss it in the back of your rig and then pull it out to lay on the tailgate when you need change Kaleigh. If you have too big of a nuclear mess you can pitch it in the nearest trash can and forget about it.

Just got my registation letter. Hell's Revenge, Behind the Rocks, and Metal masher on saturday if my rig is still in one piece. I'm starting to wonder if I should have picked easier trails :nuke: Hopefully the fresh spraypaint will hold things together. I'm bringing 2 longfields and 2 ujouints,belts and hoses. Hope I can at least limp the 250 miles home for work on monday.

LSLC voted to donate some goodies for the CM Raffle, 2 registrations to the 05 Roundup, and 2 sets of color TT, every one thru 03 except the first issue. :flipoff2:

Yes, but I can't call in and say my eyes are blurry and they send me home. HMMM! I did get sent home once for contracting pink eye, they charged me a leave day but what could they do if I don't have any? What would make my eyes pink on Wednesday and not hurt too bad? Only other option would be lice, and that sort of makes me sick just thinking about it.

Reckon' I'll be one of the first heading out to Moab. Leaving at 0500 tomorrow morning. All I've thought about for a month is seeing friggin' New York City in my rear-view mirror. :) :) Be rollin' into Slickrok sometime Sunday, ya'll drive safe.

Are you driving your trail rig, Kowboy? Mapquest puts it at 2129.63 miles from NYC to Moab. You might be a candidate for the "Iron Butt" award! If not, who's driving their trail rig the farthest?

Jalapeno sausage on a stick? Tamales? Dang Butch, my mouth is watering already. I'll have to see what I can come up with. What day is the party again?

I'll be in Sunday and plan on pre-running Golden Spike on Monday. Can't wait. See you all then. :grinpimp:
