: '89 fj-62 for sale (repairable wreck)
2manycruisers 03-05-2004, 06:35 AM 145k miles, runs, drives well, all power goodies, reupholstered tan leather interior. Black ice victim spun into guardrail damaging entire front clip (except hood) and right rear quarter panel and tailgate. Tailgate is repairable, quarter, left fender, radiator support may be repairable. No mechanical or structural damage, runs, drives fine as is.
Would make a great drivetrain swap for earlier cruiser with its 3FE, auto, and wider axles with 4.11 gears

Did that last snow get you? Heard there were a lot of pile-ups. I've got a complete '84 FJ60 body up in Los Alamos, almost no rust. Light blue metallic. Interested? Or maybe a package deal for someone who has time and tools.
It's under a car cover in my driveway - will sell CHEAP!

2manycruisers 03-05-2004, 10:40 AM Hey John, how's it going? Yeah, I'll keep you in mind about the body, I had people interested in the truck, but the parts are too expensive to be worth fixing, and none of them are available aftermarket. How much do you want for that body? I'm the one who got your other parts truck last year--I ended up using the front clip on my FJ-60 after I hit a cow two days after xmas.
We didn't get much snow in Espanola, it was mostly south of Santa Fe, the east mountains of Albuquerque got drilled and I-40 was closed from Tramway to Santa Rosa. But we have had more snow/moisture than last year.

I thought that was your post. Steve Hemphill told me about the run-in with the cow, too bad. Good thing you could use the front clip from the '83.
I'll let you know what I want for the body after I think about it some more today. It has no axles under the frame, it's on blocks in my driveway. The only thing I really need from it is the windshield for my '84 FJ60, but it might be too much trouble for what it's worth.
I was thinking it would be nice to have a 3F and fuel injection for my '84, but right now it's running great with carburetion, and it's passed smog two years in a row here. But it was marginal both times, with fuel injection it wouldn't have trouble passing this December. What kind of hurry are you in to sell?
I was in Los Alamos twice in February, the first time on the day it snowed a foot, the next time a day after it snowed a foot.

2manycruisers 03-06-2004, 10:07 AM Yeah, let me know what you want for that body, that might make a good package deal for someone that doesn't mind round headlights. Does it have an interior?
If you decide you're interested, let me know, but I really need to unload it soon. I told my wife it would be gone a month ago, but haven't had time to deal with it.
That drivetrain would be perfect for an older cruiser, I thought about it for my 45, but I'm waiting for a v8 for it.
later,

Sent you a PM. Also, check your e-mail. I'll try to call you this afternoon, I have a plan I'd like to discuss - maybe something that'll work out well for both of us!
