I took a few pic's wheen cutting down the RC44 so here are a few. I will see If I can get them in order and then explain.

This is where you cut right down the "C" to cut it off and to cut through the weld. Once the "C" is off I then cut the tube once again to the with I am looking for and repeat this again on the other side.

This shows you that you need to cut through the whole length of the weld or getting the piece out of the "C" will be a real b!tch.

This one shows you that you need to learn how to use a torch:flipoff2: In order to get the pieces out cutting a relief in them with a torch works sweet but you better not get into the "C" to much but a small amount won't trach them. I tend to get them real close and then finish the cut with a few swipes of a hacksaw.

What kind of blade are you using in the chop saw?

The saw is made by Jepson and is made to use that blade so no you can just stick it in a standard chopsaw. Dewalt now makes some and you can get rebuilt ones from northerntool.com for $199. The blades are $150ea so it is nice to have a regular chopsaw for hard stuff and chappy steel.
