What is the general consensus on the strength of the atlas TC on a fullsize rig. ie: 83 chevy flatbed, 14ff, dana 60 (whenever) sm465, 350 on 39.5s? everyone was running them at the Warn Champ. and some behind big blocks, but do they like that much weight to move around. Any insight would be appreciated.

i believe they have a fullsize rated atlas now, it has the 32 spline output front and rear

I have an atlas so dont get me wrong they are strong but if I had a vehicle that was extremely heavy I would be leary of the aluminum case.:D

I think the most HD setup with a decent low range that's practical for a full size with 1 ton axles and big tires is a NP203/205 'doubler" with (steel) adapter made by Offroad Designs ( www.offroaddesign.com ) . for something with 38-40" tires that can gross out at ~10,000 lb I'd trust that (3.94 low-low) more than an Atlas.

HTe doubler was my first option, but seeing as how i dont have either TC needed and to bolt it up to my truck i need to find the hens tooth of a 203-465 adapter. i just want something i can bolt up w/o searching for all these parts.i really dont want to go auto but its looking that way.
