I'm gonna take off my sway bars on my 79 yota, on the passenger side its a straight bar, but on the driver side in the same spot the sway bar on the passenger side is its curved like a snake type thing, thats the other sway bar right?

I believe what you are refering to is your steering arm. If it is the thing with two ball things on the ends to attach it by and is kinda parallel to the driver side springs, that is your steering arm (vital to steer your vehicle:p

Anyway, I have an 82 and 83 (hybrid:)) and mine only had one anti-sway bar thingy (although I dont think that is what they consider this) is that little tower on the drivers side with a linkage going up.

Actually now that I think about it my truck did have an antisway bar I think but I took it off a long time ago.

Take a couple pics of your front end and post them on this thread and Ill show you what you can take off. Or scrounge up some pics of a frontend and Ill circle what you can take off.

Or look at the pictures and labels in a manual, any decent one should have a labeling picture (my haynes does).

Good luck! DONT TAKE YOUR STEERING ARM OFF!:)

Sounds correct, the passenger side of the bar is straight, the driver's side is bent. Both ends should attach to the axle with a long end link bolt with rubber bushings. Remove that then there are 2 bolts per bracket on the frame and its gone! Here a picture of mine (while I still had it on w/ quick disconnects):

Dude, that's one swaybar.

If you do mostly street driving, dont take it off. Disconnect it on each side before trail-riding and your will get better articulation in the front, then reconnect for street.

The sway bar helps make the vehicle more controllable and predictable under hard braking and cornering on the street.

PS - 4Crawlr - your truck is so clean you should be ashamed of it. If they ever decide to hold a concours for rock crawlers, you'll do well!!!
