Can anyone recommend a place that will do a remove and re-install a jeep engine in Orange County CA and who won't rape my wallet?
I would do it myself but I live in an appt complex and I've pushed the limit on what mechanical stuff I can do.
Or anyone willing to help a jeeper out?
Thanks,
Lowball

I need the short block on my 4.2L rebuilt. I have a freshly machined 4.0L head and exhaust manifold sitting on my kitchen floor waiting to go in so I'd have a 4.2/4.0 combo. I have the Mopar MPI kit on this thing as well. I've pulled the head and oil pan and did a visual inspection of the block. The bearings are worn and I was getting oil in the #2 cylinder. Cylinder looks good, no ring ridge but needs inspection and if good, honed. Anyway, since I have it apart and I'm going to put the 4.0L head on it I would like to have the short block machined so everything is fresh at one time. This all started due to oil leaking in #2 cylinder. The head was fine as I had it inspected by a machinist so the oil wasn't coming in that way.
Here's some pics:

Another option is a freshly rebuilt 258 selling on this board. However, that might be gone before I can work this out.
The problem is I live in a appt complex and I've taken it as far as I dare without getting kicked out of my complex. The manager would have a cow if he saw me trying to pull an engine. On top of that I don't have a truck or bed to haul it in.
I have a place that will do it all for 2200.00 tax included out the door. That includes towing, pull and rebuild the short block, reassemble with the fresh head and out the door.
