We are trying to squeeze some life out of our dump truck and so I need to get a new carb for it. Right now it's got an RD-501 out of a mid 60's school bus in it.

The carb has a huge vacuum governor that won't let the engine do anything. So I'm wandering if any one would know if there is a non governed carb that will fit that engine?

Actually, and this is not me being an ass, you might want to try out www.binderbulletin.org , find and follow the "forums" link and post in Tech Talk over there. You will need to register of course (free), but there are many more poeple over there more up on the Bigger IH's.... Also scroll down on the "forums" page and check out the "Old IHC" special intrest group. May be some good help there.
