Check out this guys setup. So it isn't a decked out Jeep but I thought you guys might get some good ideas. Here is a write up on how he created this rig.

I did almost the same thing with a 69 GMC 11,000 lb chassis cab. Was a mechanically sound cattle truck but the stake bead was pretty trashed so I got it cheap. My flat bed had a 2' dove tail, a hole for a boom (1 sling wrecker and one 20' engine boom) and it only needed 6' of rams which slid up inside the bed like the ramp on a uhaul truck. Brakes were lousy (all drum) so I put a late model disk cradle on the front along with power brake booster and master (all bolt on, no fab). 292 I6 wasn't fast but it would just keep on lugging. Never got around to upgrading, you couldn't kill the thing. Had about $2.5k in the whole thing when I was done. Most people wind up with nearly that much in a trailer.

By his own account only1200 pounds
I'm not an engineer but I also thought that it looked a bit overbuilt, espcially for a little flatty. Maybe his other uses dictate the design of the flatbed.

My old work truck was much less complicated and ALOT lighter with a dump setup! and it was longer and wider. The thing was plenty stout had over 4000lbs of wood in the back once (oops I didnt know it only had 6 ton plates I swear) and has a sand/salt spreader on it right now. From that site it said the crossmembers were put on 12" centers
Even with all that I would LOVE to own something like that for my truck. There is a old F-600 forsale it would be sweet to throw a EFi 460 and C-6 in it and build a nice flatbed
