Here are some part numbers I found. your number is not listed but could be a newer part since the 360 was used till 1990.
Flywheel Identification
If you can find a part number stamped into the flywheel, you can
identify it that way. The '74-80 Jeep factory parts manual gives
the following part numbers for each flywheel:
'80 4-cyl 813 2267
'74-79 6-cyl 321 2623
'80 6-cyl 323 6257
'74-79 304 v8 321 2651
'80 304 v8 323 6523
'74-80 360 v8 321 2653
'74-78 401 v8 321 2655
All '74-80 Jeep flywheels share the same ring gear.

HY_desert,
I found a list on teh amx files it shows my number to be an older 360 application, I might have to open the flange recess up that extra 0.0125, maybe not. Ill try it on my extra crank ( cant reach the 360 on a stand) and see if it fits, isnt that the differnce between the older amc cranks and newer?
Chark,
I actually have a newly surfaced perfect condition flywheel, that I was told was from a 360 but im just trying to make sure that it actually is balanced for a 360 before I bolt it to my fresh engine
would you mind to give me the numbers off of yours and the weight location?

Hey...I might have to go look at it again after reading all these numbers that are posted, but...tha only number on the back of this one is G289. It's cast right below the counterweight. How did you index the 6 bolt holes to come up with an o'clock reading? If you index it by making the widest bolt gap horizonal...3 on top 3 on bottom, the weight is at 2 o'clock. I have one more still on a 79' Cherokee 360...that after this, I may unbolt just to learn more!! :smokin: Later.

there should be a longer number cast into teh bowl area also, its hard to see without a wirebrush cleaning!
Ill set my holes like you said and see what I come up with, thats alot better way to index it than going of the cast in number I would think.
thanks for your help, please email me or post here if you acna find the other number!

:) Hey, Ozzie...Ozark, I'd fired up the wirewheel on my grinder and this will keep you happy...3197219-C at about the 10 er 11 o'clock position. This matches the no. you have and I know that this wheel came off a 82' or 84' J10 360. Goodluck.

cool!
so the 319 number was at 10-11 oclock with teh weight at 2 ocloack?
if the 319 number is used as your 12 O clock ( straight up) does tat put the counter weight at 4:30?
sounds like I might not be screwed after all.
