i believe it is a 5 1/8" quadrajet carb. does anyone know how to hook the safari snorkel up to it. any info would help. thanks

Check K&N air filters, they have a cast plenum to mount a snorkel

I am assuming it is a Q-jet on a V8 Chevy. Get the stock air cleaner with the horn sticking off to the passenger side. This should work with some flex tubing to go from the snorkel to the air intake.
